HALIFAX, N.S. – Global Convention Services Ltd. “Global” is proud to announce that Michael “Mike” Klemm will be joining the team in the role of Senior Account Manager.
Mike will be leading the management of many high-profile events in Halifax at the Halifax Convention Centre and beyond. Mike will also be working in conjunction with Evans Chan – from Global’s Vancouver office – to maximize the reach of Global’s cross-Canada network of branches and partners.
“Global Convention Services Ltd. has the unique distinction of being Canada’s only true coast-to-coast trade show and special event contractor,” states Mark Howes, president, Global Convention Services Ltd. “With our seven branches spanning from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, coupled with our strong partnerships with other select contractors, Global is well positioned to offer consistent, high-quality, coast-to-coast service.”
Mike Klemm brings with him a wealth of valuable knowledge and experience from his 20 years in the event and trade show industry. Mike’s industry experience began in 1990 at the Edmonton Convention Centre. Mike then worked as a branch manager for SHOWTECH Power and Lighting in Alberta for four years, and most recently as a high-level sales and account manager for GES Canada. Mike is also certified in exhibition management with the International Association of Exhibition Executives (“IAEE”), is a CEM instructor who has taught courses in Canada and in the United States and is also part of the IAEE CEM Commission.
“I am very proud and honoured to join Global Convention Services,” states Mike Klemm, senior account manager, Global Convention Services Ltd. “As long as I have been in this industry, Global has always had an excellent and respected reputation across Canada as a premier service provider and contractor. I am excited to partner with everyone on the Global team, to work with our new and existing clients and to be part of Global’s future success.”
Although the event and trade show industry is still experiencing the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, president Mark Howes sees onboarding Mike Klemm as part of the recovery for Global Convention Services Ltd.
“2020 was certainly a trying year for our industry, however as we look forward to its recovery, we are thrilled to add an immensely talented and experienced event professional to our team,” explains Mark Howes, president, Global Convention Services Ltd. “As a result of the pandemic, Global has pivoted and focused on supplying our products and services to the healthcare, education, and assisted living sectors. We have capitalized on this forced downtime; we’ve refreshed our logos, developed a brand-new website, expanded our COVID-19-friendly inventory and developed marketing materials for our “Safe Exhibiting” products and services. These projects have kept us busy these last 10 months, and we are very excited to refocus our team on the next chapter.”
